Volunteers

Volunteer Activists "spread the word"

Vounteers are ‘Community Champions’ who recognise opportunities for communities to gain control over issues that matter to them. They draw attention to co-operative solutions for community needs.

Computer Literate Volunteers

Would you be willing to help people with little or no experience of accessing and using the internet and email?

Could you identify available community access points or, if necessary, help set them up?

Could you help people become confident in using email, the internet, and our on-line Forum?

Please contact us by emailing ceo@empower.coop.

Volunteer Advisors/Trainers/Development Workers

Often work with, and are guided by, our associate consultants and are involved in supporting communities through the important initial stages of setting up and establishing of their co-operatives.

Some of our volunteers are building their experience, with the aim of becoming associate consultants. Others prefer the hands-on approach available to our volunteer development workers.

By separating the consultancy and hands-on roles, we are able to make our services more affordable and help more communities including those which aren’t not benefiting from contractual grants.

Volunteer development workers are reimbursed their pre-agreed expenses.
